Wyoming Seminary

In April 2017 Bill Hinko, a Tesla Model S owner, worked with teachers from Wyoming Seminary to organize an electric Vehicle event.  Bill was able to arrange for four other EV owners to bring their cars and help him educate the students.  EVs were shown to students from grades 1-12.  The older students also attended an assembly where Bill used a PowerPoint presentation to educate them about EVs.

In 2015, Bill reached out to the science department at his high school, Wyoming Seminary in Kingston, Pennsylvania to see if they were interested in having the students see and learn about Electric Vehicles as part of their STEM program.  The school staff jumped at the opportunity and invited him to present.

Bill was able to find other EV owners to help him show their cars to students from the High School, Middle School as well as the elementary school.

Over the years Bill found that the students really want to experience the cars and having the owners there to answer questions is a plus.  For teachers that want to show their students examples of Electric Vehicles, he thinks the best resource is interested owners.  As the years progressed, he found that it was best to minimize the time inside in order to let the students have the maximum experience with the vehicles during the outdoor portions.

Bill also created a powerpoint presentation which he had to update each year he went to keep up with the rapid changes in EV technology.

PowerPoint converted to PDF format that Bill created:  New Electric Presentation v2

Bill was able to get around 5 EV for each year.  2015, 2016 and 2017.  Another demonstration is planned for 2019.
