Poolesville High School 2018 EV Event

Physics teacher Dan Savino held an event with Electric Vehicles at Poolesville High School during Earth Week on April 26, 2018.  He used his own Pacer conversion and worked with local EV enthusiasts Joyce Breiner and JD Taylor to get additional EVs for the event.  Joyce and JD are also leaders of the Drive Electric Week Poolesville event.

A “capture” sheet was given to the students to help think of questions to ask.  It was not to be used as a “fill in all the blanks” type of assignment, but rather, it was used to initiate conversation between the students and the EV enthusiasts.  The sheet was stamped to  verify who attended.  The students filled in as much of the sheet as possible.  The requirement was for the students to answer at least 6 questions for 2 different cars.

The event was held during lunch, in the bus circle at the front of the school.  It was paired with a Science National Honor Society event held at the same location.  The SNHS students set up tables with student run green/Earth Day activities that students could participate in.
