College Park Earth Day Bike Ride and Expo

Event Details

Earth Day Bike Ride and Expo comes to College Park April 22

As Earth Day approaches, it doesn’t take a space scientist, electrical engineer, economist, or dietician to know what’s going on with our environment, economy, and waistlines.

Good food, exercise, and an ecological lifestyle – including green transportation choices – are the paths to a more enjoyable and sustainable environment and future.

What can you do right away?

Save the date: Earth Day 2018 – Sunday, April 22!

Learn about and try out the latest bikes and trikes – both pedal and electric-assist –  that provide comfortable, economical, ecological, and enjoyable transportation, utility, and recreation.

It’s not just about the bikes, – you’ll get to see Teslas, Bolts, Volts, and other plug-in and hybrid vehicles and chat with their owners.

College Park Bicycles will provide refreshments before and after the rides and host a solar cooking demo with fresh baked brownies

Don’t Miss our Special Guest: Hyattsville Police Sergeant Richard Hartnett and the first-ever plug-in police cruiser and motorcycle.

Hartnett heads the Hyattsville electric vehicle (EV) units and will bring their one-of-a-kind vehicle. Like the owners of College Park Bicycles, Hartnett drives an unmarked civilian Bolt with a more subdued dressing.

The motorcycle will escort one of the bicycle rides, which will take place on streets and pathways, demonstrating its off-road versatility in actual pursuit.

Bike and trike rides are open to all, and both pedal and electric assist “eBikes”

Distances will range from 6 to 25 miles at various levels. Rides will have leaders and followers and turn-by-turn guide sheets.
